gtristanOk question about preference...08:23
gtristanDebian compiles ModemManager in a special strict mode, which disallows "just any user" from using the D-Bus API08:23
gtristanModemManager installs a polkit action so that people can install rules for it08:24
gtristancurrently we dont do that, but I have a patch in place which handles it the same way debian does08:24
gtristan(relevant upstream bug reference: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=92915)08:25
gtristanSo the question is: Do we prefer a more secure GNOME with the added polkit rules file for geoclue08:25
gtristanOr, do we prefer a lax ModemManager which allows just any old app to interface with it ?08:26
gtristanpedroalvarez any thoughts on this ?08:26

perryllooks like there's an issue with gerrit patch 1338 redirecting cgi-bin/cgit.cgi, the test trove i deployed with it isn't playing along...i'll redeploy a second trove with just the cgit filter and see if that works08:35
* pedroalvarez activates his brain09:04
pedroalvarezperryl: could you change the relevant files in place in the trove, so that you don't have to redeploy one and wait for lorries?09:06
perrylpedroalvarez: ah, i removed the trove last night :( last time i tried to upgrade it ended up taking far longer trying to get the upgrade working than just redeploying09:08
perrylalso i realised it didn't have enough disk space >__>09:09
pedroalvarezgtristan: tbh, I'd prefer a more secure GNOME.09:11
pedroalvarezhow is the patch you have? to create the file when installing one chunk?09:12
tiagogomes__perryl you don't need to mirror everything to test your patches. pherpahs you can configure your the trove to not mirror from upstream, and configure it with a limited set if lorries in baserock/local-config/lorries. However I forgot how to do it09:13
pedroalvarezis it just adding a file somewhere (can be done using install-files)? or has to be in place before something else gets built?09:14
pedroalvarezgtristan: ^09:14
gtristanpedroalvarez, right now I have it as an install-files/gnome file09:15
pedroalvarezthen, I already like that solution09:16
gtristanalright, lets roll with that then09:16
*** bashrc_ has joined #baserock09:16
pedroalvarezYou can make a comment in the file explaining why we are installing that09:16

pedroalvarezgood :)09:20

pedroalvarez:) :) :)09:54
tiagogomes__pedroalvarez sure, but I'd like to point out that smiles don't buy review time from me. Beer does though09:55
pedroalvarezhehe, right! I'll have to buy you a beer then09:56

tiagogomes__sometimes gerrit paginates my open changes window, sometimes it doesn't, odd10:04
pedroalvareztiagogomes__: what's your "maximun page size" in https://gerrit.baserock.org/#/settings/preferences?10:06
pedroalvarezbroken link: this one better https://gerrit.baserock.org/#/settings/preferences10:07
tiagogomes__pedroalvarez 10010:07
tiagogomes__but *sometimes*, it paginates only showing a few entries per page10:07

pedroalvarezgtristan: all of them look good to me :)10:46
gtristanthat was a royal PITA10:47
gtristanit turns out that: http://git.baserock.org/cgi-bin/cgit.cgi/delta/gnome/gnome-initial-setup.git/commit/?id=e0b7f968213d26807d00ca5841c03f4a5a4605b210:47
gtristanpedroalvarez, anyway I kindof thought the upstream soft actually worked, so was hitting a wall in integration based on the assumption that the software works10:48
gtristanin the end just ended up fixing upstream10:48
gtristanOh we have cheese now ?10:49
* gtristan adds it as dep of gnome-initial-setup, it checks for cheese in configure.ac10:49
* pedroalvarez feels really good everytime we fix upstream10:49

pedroalvarezgood, new storyboard deployment is almost ready :) https://teststoryboard.baserock.org12:39
Zara:012:43
Zara+5 for changing the colour at some point, so I stop confusing it with storyboard.openstack.org when I have 50 tabs open12:44
pedroalvarezyes, I want to do that12:44
pedroalvarezit's going to be a bit hacky I'm afraid12:44
pedroalvarezwell, maybe not? but I only have hacky ways in mind12:44
pedroalvarezsed s/one colour/other colour/12:45
Zarathe colours etc are an easy fix, I think there's a story on the current baserock storyboard with details12:45
Zarabut you'd want to change theme/custom/theme.less12:45
Zarato override the relevant variables12:46
pedroalvarez:)12:46
Zaraiirc the colour is 'brand-primary'12:46
Zaraah, there's a readme in the custom folder12:48
Zaraso I'll shush. :P12:48
pedroalvarezall of that sounds easy to do, but my deployment just fetches the latest tarball from http://tarballs.openstack.org/storyboard-webclient/?C=M;O=D12:49
pedroalvarezso I only have an styles/main.css file with everything12:49
Zaraahh, right, I see12:51
pedroalvarezI could deploy it from git, but I wanted to avoid extra dependencies that are only needed to generate the application files12:51
pedroalvarezbut I agree that some branding is needed12:52
Zarayeah, guessing you'd have to manually edit the main.css, then, if you did it that way :S12:53
pedroalvarezhacky :)12:53
pedroalvarezI'll find out what's needed to deploy it from git instead, to make it cleaner12:53
Zara\o/ it'll be easier for the storyboard team to help troubleshoot that way. I had a glance at the css but it looks like that specific variable gets renamed along the way, so I think you'd end up going on a hunt for it anyway...12:59
Zaragithub mirrors are here and here; guessing you already have these but jic: https://github.com/openstack-infra/storyboard https://github.com/openstack-infra/storyboard-webclient/tree/master/src13:00
Zarathe storyboard one should be straightforward enough. the dependencies for the webclient are less fun.13:01
* Zara wanders off again13:01

SotKpedroalvarez: that colour scheme is pretty16:38
pedroalvarezSotK: no no no, that's just a hack16:38
pedroalvarezI have a better taste, but I will need some time :)16:39
* tiagogomes finds the theme a bit darkish16:40
pedroalvarezit is16:40
pedroalvareznote that I've just replaced one color by another, in a hacky way just for fun and test16:41
tiagogomespedroalvarez I just broke it http://paste.baserock.org/fikobegefo16:43
pedroalvareztiagogomes: nah, that was broken16:43
pedroalvarezcurrently trying to work out the best solution for that16:43
pedroalvarezit is also broken for storyboard.baserock.org, but silently ;)16:44
SotKpedroalvarez: create the db with mysql >= 5.616:46
SotKor update mysql to >= 5.6 and manually add all the required FULLTEXT indices16:46
pedroalvarezSotK: that is the main problem16:51
pedroalvarezwe are using mariadb here16:51
SotKah hmm, does that support FULLTEXT indices on InnoDB tables?16:56
pedroalvarezI think it does. I'm trying to figureout what extra configuration is needed, because it's obvioulsy not working out-of-the-box16:59
