hitendrahi, can anyone tell after building the AGL demo platform for m3ulcb, which file from tmp/deploy/images/m3ulcb should be extracted to the SD card?02:26
hitendraThe doc says "agl-demo-platform-h3ulcb.tar.bz2", but such file is not created02:26
hitendramy guess is "agl-demo-platform-m3ulcb-20170628212448.rootfs.tar.xz" or "agl-demo-platform-m3ulcb-20170628212448.rootfs.ext4.xz"02:28
furyhitendra: yeah I think master recently changed to standardize on .xz02:41
furyI’d say the rootfs.tar.xz but I’m often wrong02:42
furyYour file system is already made, correct? Just need the files put in?02:43

But I don't see the SDK listed in the 'Cross SDKs Configuration' section on the Dashboard. Secondly for developing apps is it possible to say have an IDE also in the conatiner?12:21

furyVamsi: you might need to restart xds-server, I recall mine not picking up the cross SDK when I first installed it. also, the container doesn’t have the graphical subsystem, it’s only meant for compiling. mdpfury, too much logic in the qml itself overcomplicates management of the render thread.13:49
Vamsifury: Yup I have the xds-agent running. And how do I intergrate an IDE outside the server? Are you using any specific IDE for your apps?13:52
Vamsifury: Thanks, I can see the SDKs after restarting the containers.13:58
*** SebD1 has joined #automotive14:01
furymdp: yeah, I’m running into that myself on this little serial port test thing...the communication itself keeps breaking down, seemingly whenever I’m touching stuff in the QML, even swiping between pages14:07
SebD1For now, you need to setup manually calls to xds-exec command within your IDE.  See https://github.com/iotbzh/xds-exec.14:07
SebD1I tested with Visual Studio Code (by defining tasks.json) and NetBeans14:07
furySebD1: :D xds is awesome14:07
furyI got it up in Qt Creator but it ain’t pretty (yet) I have to look into those scripts you mentioned that do things for me14:08
SebD1Thanks a lot ! And I'm working to add debug support and also make it more stable...14:09
mdpfury, the Qt model normally is to move that logic to workers or to a C++ model fed from a different thread. for reasons of expedience, in the case of mediaplayer..leveraging that off-the-shelf qml component is a lot easier to show a demo media player. ultimately all this stuff will be rewritten to use a future media binding since depending on Qt frameworks is just for demo purposes.14:10
furyahh...yeah the serial stuff is in C++ but I think it might be in the same thread, and it frequently sends signals back to QML14:11
mdpwell, you can rewrite to handle that async (presumably your complete) signal in a c++ thread..and just update a model exported to qml for the UI portion.14:13
furyEven the hello QML demo I just made is a bit sluggish tho14:13
furyand that’s not doing anything except QML14:14

furyDoes it at least have enough GPU ram to not crash after starting 2 or 3 apps?14:19
smurrayI think it's a couple 100 MHz faster plus the extra cores, might be decent14:19
mdpfury, yeah, it's easy to write stuff that's inefficient is all.14:20

hitendra_@fury, for the most part all apps are showing up, some of them have never showed up e.g. navigation, so i'd say it looks good20:01
smurrayhitendra_: there are some manual steps required to install the maps for the navigation app, it won't start w/o those20:01
furythere's an install script somewhere for the map data20:01
furyand for the poi, you need to get a yelp developer API key20:02
furywonder if the steps for those are documented somewhere20:02
furyi seem to recall20:02
furybut i'm often wrong20:02
hitendra_@smurray, @fury, If you can point me to the docs, I'd love to get navigation and poi working or atleast show something20:05
smurrayhitendra_: I believe it's documented in the wiki, look there20:08
furyit's in /usr/AGL/apps20:15
furybut dig into the script source and just download it to your host machine so you can put it back on in the event of an image reflash20:15

dl9pfhttps://github.com/AGLExport/gpsnavi20:38
dl9pfhttp://agl.wismobi.com/20:38

hitendra_awesome, thanks! aren't "gpsnavi" and "genivi-navi-yelp-client" already included in agl-demo-platform?20:46
furyyes, you just need the map data (at /var/map_data i think?) and the yelp credentials file in /home/root20:47

mranostaydl9pf: you mean Bluetooth-Manager should be agl-service-bluetooth?22:04
mranostayoh but it should be named as agl-service-*.wgt in my changes22:10
mranostayi figured aglwgt class would require that22:11
dl9pfyep22:21
dl9pfalso ci can only 'guess' by the git repo name so far22:22
mranostayyeah i updated the package.pro files22:22
