furyso, haven't had that problem with the radio app happen again (naturally). but while i was at it, i fiddled with the sample rate being passed into the rtl_fm_init call (went ahead and made it a part of /etc/xdg/AGL.conf so i could quickly switch back and forth just by restarting the radio app...the whine i was reporting a while back gets quieter, but so does the whole radio signal (not sure if they get quieter at the same07:37
furyrate). higher the sample rate, the quieter the whine seemed vs. the surrounding audio. i cranked it up to 2 million and it was barely audible, wasn't sure if there was a way to raise the gain to see if the whine finally got knocked out07:37
furyit is more prominent on some stations, i may be just barely out of tune or something07:37
furyoh well07:43
furynext week i might try tweaking the radio UI to have a fine tuning block where i can tune by the hz07:44
furyi should probably have gone to sleep like 6 hours ago :D07:44
furyone other thing I noticed...qml-radio-plugin and qtmultimedia-rtlfm-radio-plugin. Are they sticking around for other apps to use? At first I thought the qtmultimedia-rtlfm-radio-plugin was what I needed to modify to change the sample rate, but that wasn’t it, so then I dug around and found the qml-radio-plugin as well, before finally stumbling on the fact that it’s all contained within the radio.wgt app O_o08:16
furyIf I had bothered to look around in the binding dir, I’d have seen the rtl_fm source which woulda saved me a bit of time scratching my head wondering why stuff didn’t change :P08:18

dl9pffury: we switched from qtmultimedia-rtlfm-radio-plugin to a 'real' binding meanwhile08:40
dl9pfso these are unused08:40
dl9pfshould probably be removed from the dependencies if they're still in08:40

furyah ok, just wondering if they were left in for use with a custom radio app designed by the manufacturer. So that custom app would simply follow the same design and bring its own tuner binding built in?18:57
smurrayfury: that's the theory19:05
