IRC logs for #cip for Tuesday, 2017-04-25

donbrownHi dungvu, We use Virtualbox as the hypervisor that runs the KernelCI/LAVA virtual machine. I had already been selected for use by the guys a Siemens and we just picked up their work and began adding to it. We've received some feedback that other members would like to use other Hypervisors (QEMU/KVM seems to be the most requested). Allowing for other hypervisors is one of our long term goals. I hope that helps.00:13
donbrownPer rajm: The wiki says that it assumes you have git 2.7.4 on the host but I've been using 2.1.4 quite happily also virtual box 5.1.8  (I have 4.3.36) maybe it needs to be more version agnostic (except for vagrant :-))01:16
donbrownWhen I started documenting the Prerequisites, it was before the discussions surrounding Vagrant. I documented them at the request of toscalix for the beta release based on what we had working at the time. So, if your setup is working on lesser versions of git and VB, that's great, but I think we should limit support to the documented versions. Now, I may be horribly wrong on this, so please let me know your thoughts.01:20
