jbpons | Hi all ! I tried to change the RPM's value of the native demo dashboard application by sending the signal "messages.engine.seed" (I up a vcan, I start the app and I send the CAN signal 3D9#00006D6000000000 with cansend command) but nothing changed (on the http://<ip>:<port>/monitoring/ page of the dashboard app, I don't see event from the signal-composer). Any idea of what I mess ? (I'm working with the 8.0.6 version) | 08:57 |

smurray | jbpons: it won't be going through signal composer in 8.0.6 (halibut), that was a change I made in icefish | 15:00 |
dl9pf | hi! | 15:01 |
smurray | jbpons: actually, wait a sec, been a while | 15:01 |
jbpons | smurray: ok thanks, I think the last commit you made for halibut version of the dashboard was switch to using signal-composer | 15:04 |
smurray | jbpons: nm, that was in halibut. It should work. If you monitor the signal-composer binding instead of dashboard, do you see it get the engine.speed CAN event and then send its event? | 15:04 |
dl9pf | could it be this ??? : hvac is on the LS (low speed), engine.speed is on HS interface according to https://git.automotivelinux.org/apps/agl-service-can-low-level/tree/examples/agl-vcar/agl-vcar-signals.cpp | 15:05 |
dl9pf | now what do we have in the mapping files ? | 15:06 |
jbpons | smurray: no ! But when I monitor the can-low-level I see that it read the signal engine.speed | 15:07 |
jbpons | dl9pf: oh ! I don't analyze this | 15:08 |
smurray | jbpons: that can be a red herring at times, as the low-can binding itself checks that message. If you monitor signal-composer you should see it receive engine.speed if things are working | 15:09 |
jbpons | dl9pf: that is maybe a solution because I add to the signal-composer the definition of the hvac signals (I create a sig-hvac.json file and add it in the control-signal-composer.json) and when I send a hvac signal like hvac.fan.speed I see that the signal-composer receive the signal from the can-low-level | 15:11 |
jbpons | dl9pf: I don't know if it's comprehensible | 15:11 |
jbpons | smurray: ok ! | 15:13 |
jbpons | Thank you smurray and dl9pf, I will work to find why I have this issue | 15:24 |
dl9pf | jbpons: check the content of /etc/dev-mapping.conf | 15:31 |
dl9pf | it should be all vcan in your case then | 15:31 |

jbpons | Yes it is | 16:00 |
dl9pf | that should bring it up to low-can then . and low-can should relay it as diagnostic_message and signal-composer send it out from there . | 16:01 |
jbpons | Ok ! Thanks ! | 16:12 |

smurray | dl9pf: note that my changes in halibut mean it's not diagnostic_message (OBD-II) being used for vehicle/engine speed | 16:48 |
smurray | dl9pf: signal composer uses the non-OBD-II messages for those that are defined for agl-vcar in low-can | 16:49 |
