furyis there an easy way to predefine some WiFi credentials? as far as I can tell, after I've connected to a network, there's a directory created in /var/lib/connman but it looks specific to each WiFi adapter. Sometimes I can get it to reconnect on the flip side of reflashing the card, by copying that directory back over, but not always. I don't know how many more times I can plug jumper wires into my USB to serials for18:16
furyconsole before they wear out :P18:16
CaptHindsightwhich open source automotive software ever gets discussed in here?18:57
dl9pfCaptHindsight: mostly https://automotivelinux.org18:58
dl9pffury: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/31943490/how-to-set-static-ip-address-using-connman-for-wifi-network19:00
CaptHindsightdl9pf: haven't looked at it too closely, what distro is it a fork of?19:00
dl9pfbur did not check the yocto recipe, yet.19:01

furyit's the distro that would be like "i am the senate"19:28
furydl9pf: i think that's just setting up the same thing (specific to each wifi MAC address) but only in a single file19:30
furyi don't know the mac address of the device beforehand, so it seems like i can't set up an existing network until it boots and i can enable wifi via connmanctl19:31
furywould putting it in /etc/wpa_supplicant.conf work?19:35
furyor can that name field be anything? i've only ever seen the one with the mac address baked in19:37
dl9pffury: maybe a config along the lines of https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/ConnMan#Connecting_to_eduroam_(802.1X)19:47
dl9pfthat does not require device mac19:48
furydl9pf: aha. that appears to do the trick. unregistered the service, created a wifi.config file like that (type, name, ssid, passphrase), restarted connman, and it's connecting19:49
furythanks!19:49
furywill try the next time i flash to see if it creates it from scratch19:49
furyas soon as i figure out why window manager et al isn't starting19:50
dl9pfwhat device?19:50
dl9pfversion?19:50
furypi 4, custom image with just a single app (mine), based on halibut 8.0.219:51
furyi havent' updated the app since flounder, so, many changes to the window manager stuff probably19:51
furywanted to get rid of flounder and hop over to pipewire so i could get started writing a pipewire/wireplumber plugin for software DSP stuff19:51
furyhttps://paste.fedoraproject.org/paste/n8~c2fG81YINpJY3Eg8l-g - my app starts at line 1186, window manager fails to open EGL display around 1470, lots of permissions denied (i'm assuming i'm supposed to be running as agl-driver not root?)19:57
furyi sourced with agl-devel, not sure if that causes that19:57
dl9pfyes, apps are not root but agl-driver now20:10
