dl9pfHi Leon!08:41
gkiagiadl9pf: wrt jabra, if I remember correctly the microphone is being opened in 8khz mode, which is why it fails (seems to be a buggy mode). it would be helpful if you or smurray can confirm that by listing the microphone format in pipewire-cli, so that I can file a bug upstream08:52
gkiagiaI have a suspicion about the wireplumber crashes (I saw some as well last week during bluetooth testing, which is another reason why I said I don't want to backport it to halibut yet)08:54
dl9pf8khz is common for voice recording aka phone quality09:11
gkiagiayeah, it needs to be fixed09:12

furyis the date/time settings supposed to actually change the date? it doesn't seem to for me right now on master12:47
furyi have to ssh in and change the date there12:47
smurrayfury: I suspect it was broken in the security model change in halibut, no longer running as root12:49
furyah ok12:50
jobolsmurray, same understanding12:50
furyis there an easy way to add ntp to it and define an ntp server? i've got a server inside the firewall that's running ntp12:50
dl9pfsmurray: fury: jobol: could be there is no code in the settings app to reach-out to the system for a date change iirc ... i might misremember something.12:52
smurrayfury: you'd need to add ntpd (or the systemd time daemon, etc.) to the image12:52
furymakes sense. i could've sworn i'd done that before but my previous image setups went missing and it's not showing in my git commit history for what i've pushed up to my gitlab12:53
smurraydl9pf: looking at the code, you're right, there's no calls out to anything that would actually try to change it12:56
dl9pfisn't systemd updating the time already ?12:57
dl9pfnot sure12:57
smurrayI don't see systemd-timesyncd in the demo image12:58
furyyeah, that's what i was looking for - timedatectl says ntp not supported13:03
paulbarkerI have patches for AGL-repo and meta-agl which need to be merged together. Merging either patch alone will break things. Can I link them together somehow in gerrit to show this?13:16
gkiagiagerrit has the "topic" field to show this13:17
smurraypaulbarker: iirc, you can tweak the topic in Gerrit, or if they're on branches of the same name I believe it groups them together13:19
smurraypaulbarker: but CI will likely fail if they're interdependent13:20
paulbarkerI'll put them on sandbox topic branches with the same name and see what happens13:20
smurraypaulbarker: usually need to make a comment in Gerrit to indicate the linkage13:20
paulbarkerThe meta-agl change might actually work alone, testing it now13:20
dl9pfpaulbarker: use same topic, but it will still build individually. Just note the linkage in a comment.13:21

waltminerfury: see SPEC-2442  I have an open issue to create a time and date service binder for AGL15:03
jobolfury: My board gets the date/hour automatically. Could be DHCP config no?15:14
furyit gets it through DHCP?15:15
smurrayI have faint memories of connman having something to do it on DHCP, but could be misremembering15:15
joboli think that DHCP server can push data about NTP15:16

furyaha. Thanks dl9pf. Added my internal NTP server there and all is well with my clock now. Didn't know it was a connman thing...is that a kitchen sink sorta thing? What else does it do besides Bluetooth, WiFi, and NTP?18:21

dl9pfseems like vshl-capabilities crashes when nobody receives the card18:59
dl9pf(or capabilities is just not compatible with the current environment)18:59

smurraydl9pf: it prints those errors, don't think it crashes?20:29
dl9pfbut at least ptt get's stuck then20:35
*** AlisonChaiken has quit IRC20:37
smurraydl9pf: I've seen it continue fine after printing those errors, so I'm not convinced there's a relation.  The OMX ones seemed a bit more possibly related20:37
smurraydl9pf: It seemed more reliable to me when I nuked the gstreamer omx plugin altogether20:38
*** jobol has quit IRC20:38
*** AlisonChaiken has joined #automotive20:39
smurraydl9pf: given we don't get the binary blobs to make OMX work, might be better to not install them by default anyways?20:39
smurraydl9pf: my guess is the hanging is coming from the gstreamer output from the voiceagent not handling errors, so if wireplumber crashes, or the pipeline fails to construct due to the OMX plugin, it gets hung20:42
furyyay I got cma-512 and gorgeous 1920x1080 on the pi 4 :)21:43
