GladwinIs this the AGL community?03:43
GladwinI am currently using the DAB version for my rPi 303:44
mranostaycommunity of sorts..  i assume you have a question03:45
GladwinI flashed the ota img in my rPi and booting successfully. But calling functionality is not working.03:45
GladwinAnd what are the differences between the versions Albacore, blowfish, chinook and dab?03:46
mranostayi assume you paired your phone to AGL03:47
Gladwinyeah. the phone is paired.03:47
GladwinCall audio and media audio profiles are successfully connected?03:47
mranostayare trying to call from it, or receive a call?03:48
GladwinI am trying to call from AGL03:48
mranostayhmm well you need check if HFP is connected03:48
GladwinNo. HFP profile is not connected.03:48
mranostayiphone, android?03:48
mranostaywell if HFP is not connected dialing will not work at all03:49
GladwinAndroid03:49
GladwinWhich exact version is stable with all features working?03:49
mranostayheh well dab should be working03:51
mranostayyou milage my vary if you are running the development master branch03:51
GladwinI have taken from the above location03:53
Gladwin This location >> /AGL/release/dab/4.0.1/raspberrypi3/deploy/images/raspberrypi303:53
GladwinLatest build03:53
GladwinIs it the stable build?03:56
mranostayshould be03:56
GladwinHave you tested HFP with this build?03:57
GladwinOn Android phone?03:57
mranostayi usually use master, and not  the latest build.03:59
mranostayalso mostly use qemu for my tested03:59
mranostay*testing03:59
GladwinCan you send the location of the master build?03:59
GladwinIt would be of great help as it is an urgent requirement.04:00
mranostayGladwin: you probably should follow the build steps on the wiki.. or dl9pf can point to the snapshot binaries04:01
GladwinSo the best method is to build it from the source rather than downloading the released build?04:03
mranostayGladwin: https://download.automotivelinux.org/AGL/snapshots/master/latest/raspberrypi3/deploy/images/raspberrypi3/04:04
GladwinThanks. I'll try this.04:10
GladwinWhat is cross sdk version?04:10
mranostayignore that04:11
Gladwinok.04:12
mranostayall should boot but may have stuff in the image you don't care about04:12
GladwinI am downloading this file agl-demo-platform-crosssdk-raspberrypi3.rpi-sdimg-ota.xz04:13
GladwinI'll flash it and let you know about the progress04:13

dl9pfGladwin: take a release https://download.automotivelinux.org/AGL/release/dab/4.0.1/raspberrypi3/deploy/images/raspberrypi3/agl-demo-platform-raspberrypi3.rpi-sdimg.xz06:15
GladwinI have taken the same release06:16
GladwinBut HFP is not working06:16
GladwinMy android device is connected to Call audio and Media audio but no HFP and PBAP06:16
dl9pfok, that is a question mdp or mranostay can help with. but they're in pacific timezone.06:19
mranostaydl9pf: heh i'm am but mdp is eastern06:20
GladwinAny idea mranostay?06:20
mranostaybut mdp has worked with that much more.. i've only used HFP for testing with a2dp muting06:21
GladwinYou tried with an Android phone for testing HFP?06:21
mranostayyes but in the last month or so06:21
mranostay*not06:21
mranostayprobably best you open a JIRA with me and mdp. and document phone type and sw version and etc06:22
Gladwinok. I'll do that.06:23
GladwinWhat about PBAP?06:23
mranostayyeah that is future feature06:23
mranostayphone book doesn't get synced from phone06:24

mranostaybut it problem i've notice is different phones..06:32
*** buspirate has quit IRC06:33
GladwinI have tried with 3 different Android phones.06:33
GladwinBut facing the same issue06:33
mranostayok best bet is create a JIRA and poke mdp on it06:34

TartarusI made sure the sample app still builds, and I read over the code (it looks like it's just using v4l), but I can't easily test, good enough?12:09

mdpis the rpi3 BT enabled?15:40
mdpI don't test on rpi3 at all15:41
mdphowever, when using any USB BT dongle, a suboptimal USB HCI block/driver can and will cause issues with isochronous transfers that are unique to BT SCO voice calls.15:43
mdpthat's why we can't do voice calls using any virtualization platform..because passthrough USB is not good enough to do iso transfers15:43
mdpand I've seen issues on m3ulcb that I don't see on vayu with the same USB dongle15:44
mdpthe only obvious different is the USB HCI and driver in play.15:44
mdpultimately, using USB BT dongles is a extremely bad idea..but most of the bsps have been historically weak in having onboard bt/wifi enabled.15:45
smurraymdp: I think it's enabled, will check15:45
mdpI moved away from rpi3 as a target platform mostly because of the memory issues..it's just not a good platform for AGL's demo hmi15:46
*** [AD]Turbo has quit IRC15:47
mdpsmurray: well, enabled, somebody should check if they work at the low level ;)15:49
smurraymdp: istr the onboard was reported as flaky15:49
mdpheh15:49
mdpprobably not worth looking at then ;)15:49
mdptbh, rpi3 has so little real docs that it's hard to even consider trying to fix driver issues.15:50
mdpit either works or not with whatever is in the downstream kernel packaged by the layer15:51
mdpif Gladwin puts some details in a jira issue we can at least triage the issue.15:53

hitendrais it possible to display the AGL homescreen in landscape mode?20:55
furyi keep meaning to figure out how to redesign the homescreen to fit the pi's 7" display21:07
smurrayIt used to require tweaks to the homescreen app.  Someone was looking at it, I can't remember if their changes went in and what they would do, exactly21:08
mranostayfury: what happens? icons overlap?21:09
furyhaven't tried it lately, but i think last time i did attempt a landscape, it just stretched 1080x1920 out to landscape and scaled down to the display21:09
furyshould i file a JIRA issue for someone to invent me a cloning machine so i can do all the things i want to do? :P21:09
mranostayfury: get better glasses? :)21:09
furypfft, i don't need no glasses. just gotta file down my eyeballs to match21:11

furyraspberry pi 3's built-in bluetooth is enabled and "works", if by "works" you mean you can pair it and get something coming over the air. but the pi's built-in bluetooth has problems streaming audio, and has had all along... https://www.raspberrypi.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=15163321:15
furyso i have to add a USB Bluetooth dongle to the pi to get listenable audio21:16
furysomething about the way they did their built-in bluetooth causes it to cut out a lot when there's heavy data transfer and/or CPU activity going on21:16
furyso badly that the hci transport is missing entire chunks of stuff - smells to me like no uart flow control21:18
mranostaythat seems like a major design screwup21:18
furywell, on the pi 3, they routed the one real UART that they had to the Bluetooth chip, and the GPIO header just gets the mini-UART, so i would assume the hardware is on there correctly, maybe the driver just isn't setting it up properly21:19

hitendrathanks fury@, for me it did not go squishy, but it just rotated the homescreen to fit in height, so lot of blank space on left and right side of homescreen22:37
hitendraprobably need to adjust other parameters in weston.ini22:38
mranostayfury: you're desk is too clean and organized22:49

smurrayhitendra: see https://gerrit.automotivelinux.org/gerrit/#/c/10737/23:15
