SpyderRyderHey Guys I have a question about tire size02:54
SpyderRyderhttp://www.club3g.com/forum/wheels-tires-brakes-suspension/87111-wheel-tire-sizing-fitment-guide-7.html#post433457802:54
SpyderRyderI just got a used 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GTS about a week ago and I am looking to replace my tires.02:55
SpyderRyderI have factory wheels it appears.02:55
SpyderRyder My owner's manual states I should use 215/50R17 but the previous owner put 215/55R17 on all four tires.02:55
SpyderRyderWhat should I use to replace them with and why were they different than what's in the owner's manual?02:56

leon-anaviRzR, I am not sure. I prefer to bitbake images on my own. You should ask zeenix for pre-built images.09:15
RzRleon-anavi, I didnt ask for me, but for users who want to try iotivity09:17

NerbrunHow is the new demo launched? Readme seems to be for the 2016 demo app. I hand the homescreen executable, which launched the app, but none of the other apps work (HVAC, media, etc..)15:50
Nerbrun*hand = ran..15:50
Nerbruni should mention that I've compiled master, and I'm running on unsupported hardware, haha. So maybe I did the right thing but my build is incorrect.15:53
*** zeenix has quit IRC15:54
*** zeenix has joined #automotive15:54
jbocklageNerbrun: you have to "install" all other apps. There should be an install script in /usr/AGL/ces2017 folder15:54
jbocklageand after this you should be able to launch them through the Homescreen app15:55
Nerbrunyes I saw that. it fails for me "Failed to open connection to "session" message bus: Failed to connect to socket /run/user/0/bus: Connection refused"15:55
Nerbrunso then I can assume that my build is no good.15:56
jbocklageplease check here: http://docs.automotivelinux.org/docs/getting_started/en/dev/reference/troubleshooting.html15:56

jbocklageNerbrun: what CPU is your hardware running?16:07
Nerbrunjbocklage: i.MX616:09
jbocklageso you bring your own BSP layer?16:09
Nerbrunhttps://boundarydevices.com/product/nit6x-som-v2/16:10
jbocklageah, I see16:11
Nerbrunthey provide a BSP layer, but i also brought in my own layer with a some changes, so things are definately out of the norm16:11
jbocklageyes. HomeScreen and the apps are user space, so if you already made it there, this should be a minor issue16:14
NerbrunI think it's probably my defconfig.16:16
NerbrunIs there a list of dependancies somewhere?16:17
Nerbrunjblocklage: thanks for the help.16:23
dl9pfNerbrun: check what configs we enable in the other boards (like for AGL/meta-renesas) this will give you some guidance16:27
dl9pfespecially smack needs to be on.16:27
Nerbrundl9pf: thanks16:28
dl9pfNerbrun: a start is: https://git.automotivelinux.org/AGL/meta-agl/tree/meta-agl-bsp/meta-ti/recipes-kernel/linux/files16:30
dl9pfenable these options ...16:30
dl9pfyou might want to create a device template, too when it works.16:31
Nerbrunlike this? https://github.com/validmfg/meta-valid-ivi/tree/krogoth/templates16:37
Nerbruncan i specify kernel configurations within the templates as well?16:40
*** redpanda has joined #automotive16:42
dl9pfNerbrun: for github link: yes, you got it - well done. For the 2nd question: no, you got to add bbappends somewhere (we use meta-agl/meta-agl-bsp with a conditional include per layer - look there).16:48

mdpsmurray: I noticed it was after I ran HomeScreen on the vayu I'm debugging ilm issues on..so I was running it manually19:33

smurrayI've had the app install script just print error messages and completely fail19:34

mdpreboot and it succeeds19:34
* mdp returns to unfscking weston on vayu19:34

smurraydl9pf: just want to confirm my assumptions, we cannot just install into the images with afm-util during build time due to future plans wrt to signing of apps and tpm usage, etc., is that correct?19:41
dl9pfaffirmative ... and we don't set the right security context for the app in the system19:46
dl9pfit is possible though with a lot of magic to inject the right things into the right place.19:46
dl9pfthat is what I know about that19:46
smurrayokay, I'll consider the other approach of automatically installing at boot time when I get a chance19:50
smurraythe current scheme is a pita19:50
dl9pfTotally agree.19:56
dl9pfThe boot-time install needs to be checked with stephane and jose, but it is not easy iirc.19:56
*** khem has joined #automotive19:56
smurraydl9pf: due to needing a bunch of stuff to have started?19:57
dl9pfi assume each installed app gets an ID which has to match the cynara DB, so preloading means hardcoding IDs for apps and massaging them into the DB  and of course the smack context on-top19:59
smurrayyeah, unless running afm-util under pseudo magically results in the right thing with labelling, it doesn't seem worth it at build time20:01
smurrayI wonder if running a script that installs any new or updated apps just prior to starting the homescreen would be reliable?20:02
dl9pfwhat happenz if you install the same app twice ?20:08
*** naruto420 has quit IRC20:09
smurrayI don't believe you can do that, you need to remove first, so a bit more involved scripting would likely be required20:10
*** claneys_ has joined #automotive20:12
smurraydl9pf: thoughts on adding gstreamer1.0-plugins-ugly to the demo image for non-porter? It requires license whitelisting "commercial", which I assume is why it's not there now20:16
smurraydl9pf: w/o it, then anyone demo-ing on rpi/turbot needs oggs instead of the mp3's I assume are being used on porter20:17
RzRsmurray, prepare to pay for royalties if you ship this :)20:18
smurraythey're enabling it in meta-renesas already...20:19
*** ToxicGumbo-work has quit IRC20:29

smurraythe last mp3 decoding patents expired in sept 2015, the remaining patents that expire next year seem to be encoding related.  I assume that's why Fedora is going to start shipping mp3 support.20:33
dl9pfsmurray: no whitelisting for the moment. we can script downloading a simple and 'free' .ogg if needed20:35
dl9pfit should be in the conf/local.conf templates though20:36
smurraydl9pf: okay, but note that porter includes the ugly plugins atm20:36
dl9pfthat is one reason why we don't host anything for porter/h3/m320:38
dl9pfit is not on for intel, a comment for all rpi320:39
dl9pfadd it as comment to the local.conf.inc20:39
dl9pfyou can set it in a site.conf for you to automate it20:40
smurrayokay, sure.  I just don't want folks attempting to set up the demo at ces to be surprised when what works on porter doesn't on the other boards20:40
dl9pfyes, agree. but we can only document it. not ship images in the snapshots with that.20:41
dl9pfso it cannot be on by default20:41
smurrayright20:41
dl9pfor you need to make it a "feature" for aglsetup20:41
dl9pfwith just a local.conf.inc  and a warning ;)20:42
dl9pfthis is basically just a local.conf.inc in a folder within meta-agl/templates/features/<featurename>20:42
dl9pfso this is easy20:43
