gunnarxrzr, looks like zeenix is away today?13:01
gunnarxotherwise we could just hash out the details around the PR together13:01
RzRmaybe13:01
RzRI can wait13:01
RzRthere is no emmergency13:01
RzRbusy with latest release13:01
gunnarxsure.  I know you have the fork to work on13:01
RzRI will try to  put my efforts in meta-oic13:02
gunnarxwhat's the run-time impact of including package group?  A new service enabled by systemd or something?13:02
RzRthen it will be a benefit for all13:02
RzRgunnarx, nothing is enabled13:02
RzRin the package group13:02
gunnarxah, ok, just built13:02
gunnarxand deployed on image?13:02
RzRactually there is just lib13:02
RzRand sample apps13:02
RzRto be run manually13:02
gunnarxpretty safe then :)13:02
RzRso it will not crash gdp :P13:03
RzRI hope13:03
gunnarxI'm just asking because zeenix needs to figure out how to manage the upcoming release, if he wants new things into master, or keep them on a feature branch, or if he has already branched of a stable release branch.13:03
gunnarxI don't know.13:03
RzRverifying build for gdp will be a good test to create things on top of it13:04
gunnarxit's just the strategy for the 11.0 final release, is all13:04
RzRbut it should be safe13:04
RzRother distros are shipping it13:04
RzRand I've been maintaining it for a couple of version13:04
RzRso I am confident13:04
RzRfor next release 1.2 that's an other story13:05
RzRbut I will sort it out13:05
RzRagain ask me anytime if I can help13:05
gunnarxyeah I'm not worried! :-)  Just trying to agree on policy also for the future.  So is it OK if zeenix merges it when he is back.  Mid next-week if I remember13:05

CTtpollardjobol: Nice idea with the backport sublayer16:26
jobolCTtpollard, thanks16:26
CTtpollardI've had the case where I need a patch from a newer poky version layer that the base system is using for example16:30
CTtpollards/that/than16:30
jobolYes there is a need to isolate such kind of in-advance foreport that are expected to be droped soon16:33
furythat reminds me... whenever AGL upgrades to Weston 1.10 then the patch I submitted for 1.9 no longer applies (because it's fixed upstream). how do I go about that, just submit a change that drops the patch, or does the patch automatically get dropped by switching to a new version of Weston?16:35
furyI forget exactly if the version number is baked into the recipe somehow16:35
CTtpollardit will more than likely need to be dropped from meta-agl16:36
CTtpollardunless the bbappend is hard version numbered16:36
furyoh16:37
furythere is one that is versioned, but I submitted it into the % that probably matches all Weston :(16:37
CTtpollardYup, will wildcard onto it16:38
furyWeston_1.9.0.bb and Weston_%.bbappend16:38
furyI take it there could be a Weston_1.9.0.bbappend that would make that patch only apply to 1.9.0?16:38
CTtpollardYes, or within the wildcard bbappend you can chose to apply patches based on PV16:38
CTtpollardsimple If PV = $ then src_uri += etc16:39
CTtpollard*choose16:40
furyah, that's cool16:41

furyhas anyone used a USB to I2C/SPI/GPIO adapter? I have a Viperboard that just quit working, was trying to get it running in Linux so I could do some I2C/GPIO based stuff directly on my laptop without having to cross compile kernel modules and whatnot20:46
furybut it just stopped enumerating, I think I fried the board20:46
furynot sure if i should get another one of these, or if there's one that actually works20:46
furywhen it was "working", I couldn't get any reaction out of the I2C device I had attached--I got a -71 EPROTO response when I tried to open the i2cdev that it made20:47
furyand it crashed the kernel if I disconnected and reconnected it20:47
