CTtpollardrokrau: you can add it to your build if you wish, or send a PR to add it by default to GDP08:22
CTtpollardthanks gunnarx08:24
gunnarxyou're welcome08:25

onionfraHello09:41
onionfraI'm testing wayland-ivi-extension feature with weston-simple-egl09:41
onionfraI could see weston-simple-egl application after doing "LayerManagerControl~~"09:43
onionfraBut touch(input) is not working.09:44
CTtpollardonionfra: there could be many reasons as to why touch input is not working09:44
onionfraI can't not move triangle with my finger09:44
CTtpollardcould you try weston-calibrator or weston-simple-touch09:45
onionfraweston-simple-touch print "Segmentation fault"09:46
onionfraand weston-calibrator print09:46
onionfracould not load cursor 'dnd-move' 'dnd-copy' dnd-none'09:46
onionfraBut I can see message below whenever touch09:46
onionfranotify_touch: weston_compositor_pick_view(485, 391) failed to find a view!09:47
CTtpollardthat would suggest there's an issue with your weston/wayland installation09:52
onionfraWhat type of issue? Can you explain more?09:53
onionfrahttps://thepb.in/p/lOhOWgyWBpwcB09:54
onionfraIt is my config file that weston.ini09:55
onionfraIs that need more setting for input?09:55
gunnarxonionfra - usually easiest to reach the experts through this mailing list: http://lists.genivi.org/pipermail/genivi-ivi-layer-management/09:57
CTtpollardor #wayland if you're having specific weston issues09:57
gunnarx+109:58
gunnarxyou didn't say what system environment you are in?09:58
onionfraHm It is working on desktop-shell...09:58
onionfraOnly not working in ivi-shell09:59
onionfraMy board is TI jacinto609:59
onionfraAnd woring with TI GLSDK09:59
onionfraworking09:59
onionfraweston 1.11.0 and ivi-extension is 1.10.9010:00
CTtpollardonionfra: so you're using meta-ivi11?10:01
CTtpollardor GDP11, if you've got ivi shell support in Qt?10:01
onionfraYes, It can be same. I brought the recipe from meta-ivi10:02
onionfraI ported it by myself10:03
onionfraTo TI board10:03
onionfraSo you think this problem from weston?10:03
onionfraBut It is working with hmi-controller10:04
*** gunnarx has quit IRC10:04
onionfrasorry. I have to go now...10:05
CTtpollardI've not tested the base weston applications under ivi-shell for a long time sorry10:06

dl9pfleon-anavi: did you see a dbus error when you started alsdemo ?10:36
dl9pfon rpi ?10:36
dl9pfdid you manage to rotate the screen btw ?10:38
CTtpollardrotating is simple enough with weston.ini10:39
CTtpollardor the config.txt in the boot partition on the pi10:39
dl9pfok, good point weston.ini ... tried the config.txt, but lcd_rotate=1 just had a black screen for me10:40
CTtpollard=1 is 180 right?10:40
dl9pf=2 is 180 ... =1 should be 90 ... at least I hope10:40
CTtpollardI'd give 2 a try then to see if it's 90 specifically that is causing an issue10:41
dl9pfmaybe thats the point ... touchscreen cannot be rotate that easy. So I might have to just rotate the screen itself and invert the axes manually for touch. now to figure out how that works ;) .10:41
leon-anavihi dl9pf, yes10:41
dl9pfleon-anavi: error or rotate question ?10:42
CTtpollardI'm currently inverting my raspi touchscreen 180 via config.txt as my display mount flips the screen physically10:42
leon-anaviI see error10:42
leon-anaviI haven't experiment much with the rotation10:42
leon-anaviI tried to rotate through weston.ini10:42
dl9pfCTtpollard: I assume 90 is not that easy as 180 .10:42
leon-anaviwhen I switch from desktop to ivi shell the screen just goes dark and weston fails.10:43
dl9pfleon-anavi: whats the option in weston.ini ? will try there. config.txt might now work for 90 deg10:43
dl9pfleon-anavi: that is because the patches for ivi-shell are not applied and need to be ported10:43
dl9pfI commented on the bug yesterday10:43
dl9pfok, so you see the dbus error, too. good. will catch the message and put in jira.10:44
leon-anavioh, sorry, I have missed your comment in JIRA. Let me have a look at it.10:44
dl9pfcool - I like the sota idea on the rpi ;) . In the case I have its horrible to juggle sdcards, so ota would be a wonderful addition :D10:45
leon-anavi:)10:46
*** Olivier[matrix] has quit IRC10:50
leon-anavidl9pf, basically the option in weston to change to ivi shell is to set: shell=ivi-shell.so10:50
leon-anaviinstead of desktop-shell.so10:50
dl9pfok, and the rotation ? transform=90  ?  ahhh ..10:53
dl9pfhmm10:53
dl9pfhmm, i need console ... black screen ...10:55
leon-anaviis the rotation to 90 mandatory for ivi-shell?10:55
dl9pfno, but the alsdemo is vertical10:56
dl9pfunless we scale it to miniature10:56
*** clopez has quit IRC11:01
leon-anaviok, let me try the vertical rotation on desktop shell11:02
*** Olivier[matrix] has joined #automotive11:04

leon-anavidl9pf, my attempts to rotate the display on rpi3 also failed.11:08
dl9pfyep, I'll put it in a jira to remember.11:10
leon-anaviok11:11
dl9pfhmm,  kooltux_ can I disable smack in a kernel cmdline option like selinux=off ?? to give it a quick try ?11:14
dl9pfmy hunch is we're loosing the seclabels in the rpi-sdimg process.11:15

gunnarxCTtpollard: One thing to watch out for - there is a fancy git status prompt in the dev environment _if_ you are standing in a git working directory.  I noticed slow responses when it was in a git dir with very many files.11:56
gunnarxSo look out for if this becomes a problem with a fully populated tmp dir for example, then you're going to want to nuke it11:56
gunnarxAt the very least it appears to count the number of unversioned files, if I understand it correctly.11:58
*** praneeth_ has quit IRC12:17
*** praneeth_ has joined #automotive12:17
kooltux_dl9pf, well you can *technically* disable smack using "security=none" in the kernel cmdline IIRC... *BUT* you'll probably hit some problems12:35
kooltux_systemd is patched with smack support... and it doesn't like being started without smack support in the kernel.12:36
kooltux_security mechanism are not supposed to be disabled, even for dev purposes. it's a feature :)12:37
leon-anavidl9pf, for disabling smack you can refer to the tizen wiki: https://wiki.tizen.org/wiki/Security:Smack#How_to_disable_SMACK.3F12:48
leon-anaviI have added the answer to the FAQ there ;)12:48

leon-anaviok14:53

leon-anaviI use dd (or alternatively bmaptool)15:39
khembmaptool is good as well15:44

CTtpollardgunnarx: gstreamer1.0_1.2.3 according to the baseline16:03
gunnarxhmm, what does that mean.16:03
gunnarxoh yeah, 1.2.3 I guess is the version really16:03
CTtpollardyep16:04
gunnarx1.0 is just the API compatibility indication.16:04
gunnarxkhem: good one, dcfldd16:05
CTtpollardhowever, local workdir is calling it 1.6.316:06
gunnarxkhem: I have this horrible hack I made that starts dd in the background and with a timer sends it SIGUSR1 every 5 seconds16:07
CTtpollardso the recipe name probably needs updating16:07
gunnarx(USR1 causes dd to print its progress)16:07
gunnarxI'll be glad to rid my alias file of that monstrosity...16:08
*** AlisonChaiken has joined #automotive16:13
CTtpollardrokrau: add a file at meta-genivi-dev/recipes-qt/qt5/qtmultimedia_%.bbappend & add PACKAGECONFIG = "gstreamer" to it, you may also want pulseaudio & alsa-lib in there16:15
*** ctbruce has quit IRC16:16
CTtpollardrokrau: then run bitbake-layers show-appends to ensure bitbake is going to apply your new append to the recipe16:18
rokrau_CTtpollard: Thanks!16:19
CTtpollardthere are many example of appends like this to qt5 in meta-genivi-dev, for webkit, qtbase etc16:19
rokrau_I was hoping it would be this easy16:19
CTtpollardI *hope* that works, but I don't currently have spare build capacity to test it locally16:20
rokrau_I can give you one if you like :-)16:20
rokrau_I will try it out on my system in SV right now16:21
CTtpollardcool, I'll check here/the list in the morning16:22
CTtpollardgood luck16:22
gunnarxrokrau_, give us a go-agent :)  if that's what you meant16:22
CTtpollard^ +116:23
rokrau_gunnarx: Okay - agreed - you walk me through the setup and I will give you a go agent !16:23
gunnarxlet's talk about it... ;-)16:23
gunnarxwhoa, you bet I will16:23
gunnarxgit clone.  docker run.  basically :)16:24
rokrau_gunnarx: I have a Dell Alienware and another Intel box that are collecting dust for most part - my network to the SV office is *not* great16:24
gunnarxNot a problem. It can run smaller builds.   And once the yocto builds have run once, the source is locally cached.16:26
rokrau_yes - agreed16:26
rokrau_gunnarx: I can give you temporary TeamViewer access to the machine if you want to set it up16:27
gunnarxCool. I'll get back to you shortly on that16:28
rokrau_CTtpollard: is there an option to enforce GStreamer 1.0 or is that what PACKAGECONFIG = "gstreamer" already does?16:28
* gunnarx goes to google what the hell TeamViewer is ;)16:29
rokrau_It is a proprietary screen sharing solution for which you have to buy a license16:30
rokrau_then it works better than anything else on the market today16:30
gunnarx"Be Right There, Right Now".  Sounds awesome.  :) I wish I was somewhere else right now16:31
rokrau_gunnarx: snowing already in Goetheburg?16:31
gunnarxThe swedish translated page I first got was even better: "Be where you want to be, when you want to be..." :)16:31
rokrau_gunnarx: I can also give you an ssh tunnel - the machine is behind a few NAT and firewall hoops currently16:33
rokrau_CTtpollard: okay recipe append is picked up - rebuilding right now16:34
gunnarxNo, but it's gone from around 15C to 3C in a week.   My car warns me about freezing temperatures.  In early October?  The world has gone awry16:34
rokrau_gunnarx: you are going to enjoy Cali then in a few weeks16:34
rokrau_gunnarx: anything special anyone wants to do while you guys are here? Philippe was hoping for a sailing day on the bay.16:35
gunnarxI'm always up for sailing.   but now I have to go afk a while16:36
